
Home School Program
This program has three different programs to meet the needs of our
community’s Home Schoolers. They are SwimAmerica Swim Instruction,
Stroke School and Fitness for Competition.
SwimAmerica classes are available for Home Schoolers M/W or T/Th
1:45-2:45 AM. Please see SwimAmerica section of this website.
Classes are limited to five per group, so and each session will be
comprised of eight (8) lessons. Additional classes will be opened if
needed.
Stroke School: This group is for children who are capable of
swimming at least 10 yards any style without stopping. Swimmers should
have had some swim lessons before joining this group. Here swimmers
will perfect their Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly
technique. Swimmers may participate in intra-squad and local USA-S
competitions. The instructor is in the water with the children during
practice time. Practice times are Mondays through Wednesdays from
2:45-3:45 PM.
Fitness for
Competition: Group is designed for swimmers 8 and over wanting to
gain better understanding of competitive swimming and swim for fitness
as well. Competition is encouraged but not required. This group meets
up to 4 times per week: Monday through Thursday from 2:45-3:45 PM. The
coaches recommend the swimmers attend at least 2 times per week.
Masters
This program is for adults who wish to exercise at
a level giving them the ability to compete in Masters competitions.
Stroke technique corrections will be given. This group meets 5 times per
week: Monday – Thursday 6:00-7:15 PM and Fridays 5:30-7:00 PM. The
coaches recommend swimmers attend at least 3-4 workouts per week.
Fitness Swimming
Designed for swimmers wanting to swim for fitness.
Practices will be available for use, however, although coaches will be
on duty, no instruction should be expected. Fitness Swimming Times:
Mondays – Thursdays 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM; 4:00 – 4:45 PM; Saturdays –
10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Triathlete Stroke School
This group is designed for the instruction of the
fundamentals of freestyle and the adjustments which need to be made when
competing in an open water situation. This group meets once a week, on
Saturdays 12:00noon-12:45 PM. It is suggested that participants also
attend at least three Fitness Swimming Sessions per week.
Pre-Season
Training
Throughout the year, Club Estates opens its doors to
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the American Heritage Girls and Camp Fire USA
in order to assist the dens, packs, patrols and troops in completing
swimming and water safety proficiency badges.
Scout Days are held during a Saturday
morning and afternoon with instructors available to assist the
troop/den/pack leaders. For badge activities needing deep water, Scout
Days will be made available during the late spring and autumn, to
utilize Club Estate’s outdoor pool with diving well. During the winter
months, our indoor teaching pool will be used.
